Anyone see the latest episode of Real Sports on HBO?

They do a profile on Dykstra who's a stock market guru now, but still very much Lenny.

You have got to see this

Not surprising. He's a gambling junkie.

Should have just gone with Cutty for a first name and Sark for a middle.

I heard about this. Strange things.

I figured he would've just bought up Red Man without much research.

I hate Bryant Gumbel, and Costas's "I'm a Real Boy" Act wore thin long ago, so I rarely pay attention to this show. I'll have to see if I can catch it.

Still one of the coolest things I've ever see in baseball is when he turned around and flipped Mike Scoscia's mask off and they got to fighting at home plate.

Not long ago at a bar in Philly, I was talking to a guy who, as a result of setting up Pete Incaviglia or someone with a stereo system, ended up at Darren Daulton's birthday party, where he told he he partied all night with the team and a bunch of strippers.

Except Dykstra, of course, who apparently spent the entire party in a back bedroom with a wall of TVs and a mound of blow. Seems to have worked out for him.

I'm pretty sure that i read that Dykstra buys all his technical research from another firm. He's more of a marketer than a stock picking genius.

Quote:
Last month, though, on March 23, Dykstra picked up the phone and woke up his mother with a call at around 6 in the morning, according to Kevin Dykstra, his younger brother. Lenny was stranded in Cleveland. He wanted to charter a jet so he could get to a business meeting on the West Coast, and his credit cards were maxed out. He needed nearly $23,000 and asked his mother for it, Kevin says.

His mother agreed to let him use her credit card.

Kevin Dykstra says she has yet to be repaid.

"He had no money," says Lenny's brother. "He is on the phone, crying to my mom, saying he has got to get home and he is in Cleveland, Ohio. He asked my mom to put up her credit card for 23 grand. That is just sick, dude.

"The whole family is mad and she is all sad, saying he caught her off guard. She was asleep. He was crying to her, man."

About the use of his mother's credit card, Dykstra says, "Listen to me, the millions of dollars I've spent on them -- I mean, I don't know what you're talking about. That is why I can't talk to you no more."

Ahhhhhh man, that feels good.

Everything feels like it is in its perfect place now that I know Lenny Dykstra is Lenny Dykstra and I have another reason to hate Bryant Gumbel
