What are you doing for Spring Break? Why not be part of what promises to be the single largest gathering of Obnerinians ever???

WHEN: Friday, March 18 & Saturday, March 19

WHERE: Austin, Texas (exact location to come)

WHY: SXSW (ostensibly), but really to serve as the first-ever Obner "Convention"

Please post one of the following RSVP responses in this thread:

FO SHO

HOPEFULLY

DOUBTFUL

NO DICE

Chuck D and babe both live in Austin, so they'll be on hand. Both me and jagged are planning on making the short drive down from Big D -- perhaps we'll convince our fellow Metroplexian, coma, to join us. I would think that such Houstonians as el_scorcho and Nude Dude could slide on over, as well. I know the Hotlanta Mongerers (Sen. LooGAR, Yail Bloor, Rick Derris, Pagoda, and the rest) are planning on getting all MIKE JONES! on the Lone Star State. Perhaps perennial SXSW gigger epa will be there, too!

This is going to be EPIC!!!

Take a long weekend from wherever you are and be part of Obner history! Southwest Airlines probably won't charge you more than like $35 (maybe a SLIGHT exaggeration...but not much).

I'd like to, but March will be pretty busy 'round here, and I need the cash. Septemberish, however, is when I'm looking to vacate my zip code for a bit.

Fair enough, but there is another way to make your presence felt. Check your PM, Cory.

Saving up for Coachella and a trip to Scotland and Ireland. Plus, can't take vacation during that timeframe.

DOUBTFUL

My wife's health issues have picked up in '05 where they left off in '04. Not completely impossible though. I really would like to do this and it's just a weekend.

HOPEFULLY.

A friend is having his bachelor party that weekend in New Orleans. If I get out of that then hopefully.

I saw that the full festival pass was $475 or thereabouts. Are you people going to pay this or can you just pick individual venues and pay their cover charges?

NO DICE.

I have classes and my Spring Break isn't until the following week. And by then, mid-terms will probably be kicking my ass.

DOUBTFUL

If I have landed a fantastic job in the meantime and it's cheap to fly and I don't need a full-on festival pass and if and if and if... maybe then.

All depends on when the job comes through. I really want to be there, because last year was like the most awesomest thing ever. We Shall See. If I can swing it it'll probably just be the weekend

I'm just about to off myself over here.

Seriously, though...forget about the cost of passes/badges and all that extraneous shit. Just hop on a cheapie Southwest Airlines flight, crash in a crudely-erected tent city in Colin's backyard, and let's get it on like Donkey Kong. We're talking 2-3 days on/next to a weekend with a much smaller amount of moolah required than you might think.

Where is the love, people???

I like the way you think, Grape Ape. It's the tent city that will sell me.

Of course, for all I know, Colin lives in a 3rd floor apartment. Still...squatting is fun!!!

My new section debuts that weekend and I'm sure we'll have some sort of bash to launch it.

This is killing me. I have to miss SXSW/Obnerfest and Coachella this year.

Won't your new section need to be in Austin to cover SXSW for your super-hip target demographic? Have the bash in Tejas! Think outside the box, man!!!
