I find this show pretty hit-or-miss, but I caught an episode last night that was pretty intense. Mike was lending a hand at a Charcoal plant in Missouri. Anyone see this? I don't think I've seen an episode where the interaction between Mike and the actual employees was so uncomfortable and tense.

I've been to rural Missouri. Any interaction between the locals and actual human beings would be uncomfortable and tense. I generally advice against making eye contact unless you can offer beer or meth if necessary.

Love this show. Mike Rowe has been doing things around the Balto/DC area for years, so when he turned up on Discovery it was little odd. I agree some eps are better than others, but pretty much every show has at least one segment which is highly entertaining.
