Anybody heard of this band Barcelona? (attn: Chicago Ob's)

So this band Barcelona came by my college tonight and played an hour long set in our TV studio as part of a concert series that our radio station and tv station do in conjunction with each other. Long story short, they played a great show in front of a packed house (the max capacity of the place is supposed to be 50, but we squeezed some 80+ people inside). They play piano-based melodic indie rock...i guess that if creeper lagoon was more piano based, though i'm not sure that description does them justice.

Anyway, they're playing Schubas on Thursday at 9:00 PM (New Jersey to Chicago in one day is a heckuva drive...i know personally) opening for Plants and Animals and Essex Channel. I really don't ever street team bands like this, but they really were very good. Just a thought to anybody in Chicago whose got nothing to do on a Thursday night (and they play fairly early, so that's a bonus)

They have a myspace i think if you want to hear something by them.

Anyway, back to regularly scheduled posting.

I remember a band called Barcelona about 10 years ago... could it be the same band?

EDIT: Are they from Chicago or were you just alerting people about the upcoming Chicago show? The one I knew was from DC. According to AMG there's another from Seattle that released an album in 2007.

I checked that actually and no, completely different band.

These guys are from Seattle, for what it's worth.

I don't know which one that would be.

haha, i didn't even think about that. "i have the password to your shell account" barcelona was/is from the district.

haha, i didn't even think about that. "i have the password to your shell account" barcelona was/is from the district.

Mostly know about the Washington DC / Trevor Kampman band myself. Maybe, just maybe, Vanlandingham should check out the Barcelona everyone else likes as well?
