The Kinks: Misfits

All that Kinks talk the other day had me pulling out Kinks records. This one's still playing. The title track and Rock 'n' Roll fantasy are classic and everything else fits in quite nicely. One of my favorite Kinks albums outside collections of the earlier harder rockin' singles. This one rocks at moments, but has a that much more laid back vibe like their other stuff of the era overall.

Yeah, it's a really, really great comp, especially for someone like me who isn't really into reggae.

Yes, it is a great comp. but most of those tracks can be found on various budget trojan comps...in fact, I think most of the 2nd disc comes straight from one comp.

Still, one of the top 10 soundtracks ever.

Yeah, having most of the songs elsewhere is what has kept me from grabbing it by now. But, sometimes it's nice to have such a good song selection all in one place.

its not that they're available on a bunch of other records...that 2nd disc is basically a trojan comp of another name tacked on as a 2nd disc in a "special edition" package.

can't remember the exact name (there are tons of trojan comps), though I'm sure a few minutes on allmusic could figure it out.

If I remember correctly it was a second disc on one of those budget 3 disc comps.
