I think we did this thread already. My response is any bands that want to better themselves are welcome to do so but as long as the vocals are still retarded I don't have the patience to pay attention.

It's not that I'm too cool, it's just that they fucking suck. There's an interview with the guitar player in Rolling Stone and he said he's just discovered the Beatles and Bob Dylan (at age 20-something) but he has to listen to them alone because none of his friends listen to anything like that.

I don't know about Panic At the Disco, but I'm not too cool to admit to a lot of stuff.

I listen to Avril Lavigne. I have no pride. I'd give this Panic band a listen if I had an idefinite amount of cash to work with. But I don't, and I sure don't lose any sleep over it.

One thing I'll give them is that they sound a lot of the shit you guys normally listen to, they just don't have the indie cred.

Yup. This is the snobiest board I've ever been on hands down.

I don't think its snobby to write something off without listening to it per se. I mean, a lot of us listen to everything, and that even means some emo/screamo bands that have come across our radar. Its not outlandish to think that if we aren't a fan of a certain genre that we probably won't like another product of it. Now, I'll be the first to admit, that yeah perhaps there should be a little more open-mindedness, but in all fairness, this isn't usually the music that gets a lot of us off. I'm willing to listen in, but I'm going in with 2 strikes already against it. Fair? No. Understandable? Absolutely.
