Yet another iPod/iTunes question

I'm sure this has been asked and answered a few times now, but I couldn't find the answer the archives. Here's the situation: I have songs on my iPod that I want to now burn onto a CD for a friend. How do I accomplish this seemingly simple task?

for windows, you can use ephpod
for mac, you can use podworks
