What can I expect from Black Dice live? I'm not familiar with them.

Anyone catch Animal Collective on this tour so far? Thoughts?

I would imagine Black Dice is pretty boring now.

But Animal Collective should be fun.

i think i recommended black dice to you dalen, and you said that you did not like... it still seems like right up your alley to me though.

Man, I could swore that you've heard Black Dice at some point.

A RIYL is really tough. They're pretty unique, if boring.

It's a lot less noisy now. It's just weird electronic music, but not in any kind of fun way.

I like Black Dice (or at least did a few years ago) but they effing hurt my ears when they opened for Godspeed You Black Emperor a few years back.

Our review from Sunday's show. In short; pretty disconnected and meandering, and severely lacking in hooks.
I'm no fan but this was surprising since I've always heard great things about their shows.

My buddy saw them in NYC and he said about the same. I missed them here in Boston

this was when hisham was still with the band and they ruled. i would guess seeing black dice now is the equivalent of seeing thin lizzy now. i mean, yeah, they're still playing music, but the star power's a little lacking.

Dalen is going to be really disappointed by AC's live show.

I loved Black Dice circa 2003 - 2005 and their shows in the first few months of 2004 were some of the best I saw during my stay in NYC (this was right around the time Hisham quit the band). I've listened to Repo once and don't really feel the need to revisit.

ok so, Black Dice, not for me. a bit too harsh, and i just wasn't into it.

Animal Collective were pretty damn good. energetic show for both the band and crowd. Panda Bear played the hell out of the drums on the extended version of Fireworks, and Brother Sport was just incredible....like a full blown rave, with almost every person in the sold out venue screaming and jumping around.

we left very impressed. only complaint being no Bluish.
