that anyone ever needs to find the Web site for the UK band The Music, it's; www.themusic.co.uk

That may seem unnecessary now, but you'll thank me when you spend 15 minutes stumbling through dozens of google pages that hit with "the music".

Couldn't those schmucks have added at least a little uniqueness to their name (saying nothing of their, gulp, music) or realized what a freaking pain they were inviting with that name?

Hubris, pure and simple. To say nothing of stupidity.

Thanks but I'm pretty sure I'll never need to look at this band's web page. I've boycotted them solely because of their name.

i didn't initially like them because of the name either. and then when i actually heard them, i was pretty glad that i'd already made up my mind about them because i find them to be pretty boring. unfortunately, kasabian is now opening for them and i like kasabian, but not at the music's prices. whatever...

Where would I find information about The The?

Chad, you could've gone to ArtistDirect and easily located their site that way.

there's also a band called The People. they opened for Idlewild a few years ago and are apparently from kansas city. googling for them is simply a nightmare.

I know this was a sarcastic post - but believe it or not it is exactly what you would expect it to be: http://www.thethe.com/

The The is easier to find than The Music, because you get Matt-specific returns for "The The" when it's in quotes

Exactly how I feel. The reason I was looking in the first place because I knew I wanted to see the band opening for them but couldn't remember who it was.
I'm on the fence.
Futureheads is the next night and I'm much more inclined to wait and see them instead of pulling a back-to-back.

SKIPPY: whatcha listening to?

SPANKY: The music.

SKIPPY: of course it's music, but what band?

SPANKY: Music.

SKIPPY: Guitar rock, drum'n'bass, folk

SPANKY: No, it's music

SKIPPY: How would you describe 'em?

SPANKY: Kinda sounds like clinic.

SKIPPY: Sounds like a clinic?

SPANKY: Like clinic

SKIPPY: Have i ever heard any of their stuff.

SPANKY: Maybe.

SKIPPY: Is that the name of the song, "maybe"?

SPANKY: No.

SKIPPY: Then honestly, what's a song of theirs i'd know?

SPANKY: The truth is no words

SKIPPY: Then you aren't going to tell me.

SPANKY: i just did tell you.

SKIPPY: Tell me what?

SPANKY: The truth is no words

SKIPPY: So how do they sing the song?

SPANKY: With lyrics

SKIPPY: this song with lyrics of no words is sung by?

SPANKY: the music

SKIPPY: so we have a song with lyrics of no words sung by a band with no name behind the music

SPANKY: i'm sure they have names.

SKIPPY: should i just look 'em up online?

SPANKY [chuckles]: psssh, good luck with that!

They're still around? I though that ship had pretty much been sunk quite a while ago...

For future reference, if you want to look up a band's website via google just type in the band's name followed by official. 9 times out of 10 the first query will be the site you're looking for. For example, type:

The Music Official

and it's right there.

edit: and 'The Music' suck balls.

If that's a paying gig, I like it even better than one about seeking higher fortune cookie discernment.

80 grand and a battered Lambchop trucker hat are all I'd need and I'm your man.
