Goodbye Antoine Walker; Hello Gary Payton and another draft pick; End of the year, goodbye Gary Payton and hopefully we'll have similiar luck to the pick that we picked up in the Rasheed trade last year (Josh Smith)

Plus I might go out and see the Glove (or Mitten at this stage in his career)

It's unbelievable that the Hawks are actually making good decisions for the future. (Burn in hell Stan Kasten)

Now, all we need to do is lose every game for the rest of the season. I'm serious. I don't want another fucking debacle like last year where we win just enough at the end of the season to get us out of the running for the #1 pick.

Ask me after the tourney. I don't see enough of the countries teams to really answer that. This obviously isn't a year where there are Carmelo and Lebron's out there which is just the Hawk's luck. The one year where we finally put it all together and lose enough to gain the coveted #1 pick there ain't shit out there.

we went to the playoffs for the last time in '98 I think with that Steve Smith, Mookie Blaylock, Motombo team. Coached by the always spry and dickless Lenny Wilkens , who along with Stan Kasten and especially Pete Babcock doomed this team to eternity in the fiery pit of hell that is the cellar of the NBA

jon koncack
antoine carr
moses malone
spud
kevin willis

i thought that i'd be able to remember more. disappointing. i was a big hawks fan back then.

Chris Paul?, Daniel Gibson? some Euro-Gar who could be either the next Dirk or the next Darko? Honestly, Chase I would defer to you on this one brother.

Ill say this for Antoine while he was a Hawk: He didn't complain, he did his job, he did no disservice to our young players and he kept his damn mouth shut; he knew he was only here for a year at most and probably just until the deadline.

I got no beef with Mr. Walker.

yeah, i think that's what rick is saying- there's some guys who might be good/decent players and you'd like to have, but no one who seems like a definite, immediately starring top pick.

I'd like to point out that there is more Atlanta Hawks talk in this thread than has happened in the past two years on the two full time and three part time sports radio stations in Atlanta COMBINED.

TOINE's attitude offcourt wasn't the problem - it was his end of the game meltdowns, near violent outbursts against the Nets, poor clutch performance, etc. that made us hate the guy. hey if he's shaped up and is ready to play ball again, i'm happy to have him back in green, but damn...i had no problem shipping him off to Dallas.

So the Hawks will have 2 first round picks? Damn.

Add them to Josh Smith and Childress and we've got a pretty good foundation and young too.

It really sucks right now because Atlanta could be a huge NBA market if they were even remotely decent. They don't refer to it as Black Hollywood for nothing.

'toine has always bugged the shit out of me and I can't even remember exactly why. Kev's reasons will suffice for now, though.

DAMN can Korver chuck up some more threes? can we just give him his own fucking ball?

also, are the Knicks even aware of how fucking ridiculous they are? Isn't Spike Lee around to point out this kinda thing to them?

the celts have payton back now. kph made a post earlier that they've been fun to watch these past few days, and that's true, but i still don't like the way that team is designed or the way that it's run, so i'm hoping meltdown and rebuilding.

I thought he was going to the Heat. This was a bizarre trade. In regards to the Hawks, I think Woodson is trying to build a team similar to the Pistons. A lot of good players instead on 2 great players.
