So there's this dude named Deitrick Haddon and he released an album called 7 Days. Apparently one of my favorite R&B production teams, Tim & Bob, produced almost every track.

I just wanted to say that I haven't been this excited about Jesus in a very long time.

I can't fathom having favorite "production teams"

I'll go so far as to say "that's got an Eno-produced tone to it" but to have a list of "teams," no.

It reeks of the artist not mattering so much as the producer, which is sucky.

Well, in this case the artist/singer definitely doesn't matter as much as the producer to me, but are you completely against the idea of creating an album where one artist focuses entirely on the music while another artist/singer strictly focuses on lyrics/vocals?

Ick. But I'm not much into modern R&B.

Jesus for President?

And that's why I'm not getting anywhere near that album.

Artist A and artist B decide to make an album together. Artist A does all the music for it while artist B does all the vocals/lyrics.

Better?

I'm not reading impaired, Borg. It's the "are you completely against" bit I was whating. Lyricist/musician pairings are as old as time and there have always been band members/artist affiliates who handle production aspects. I was talking having a "favorite" production team, not about knowing what production actually means. I'm just not urban enough to handle such stunning advancements. I'll make exceptions for Sly & Robbie and Lee Perry because I'm old.

If we're making recommendations, I'm a big fan of this one:
