What exactly is the intent of this thread? Are you genuinely concerned with the economic collapse of Iceland or are you being sarcastic?

From what I can tell it just looks as if they were just as stupid with their lending practices and financial philosophies as the rest of us.

their economy is literally collapising on a scale of the great depression. They made poor choices (like everyone else) but given it's a nation of about 400,000 they will sink into a depression immediately and it is going to revolutionize their way of life. Which previously was a very high standard of living.

That very high standard of living didn't start until the 90s. Before that its was pretty much the rural life.

Europe's financial recovery is more interesting to me than our own.
