A sure-fire way for Hollywood's leading man to regain his box office charm is portray the Man of Steel. And it appears that Ben Affleck will get his chance to don the cape - sort of.

Affleck has been cast as 1950s TV star George Reeves in Truth, Justice and the American Way. The singular role that put Reeves on the map was his portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman in the TV show "Adventures of Superman" that ran from 1952 to 1957. Reeves died in 1959 from an apparent self-inflicted gun shot, but rumors abound that his death was anything by a suicide.

Adrien Brody has been cast as an investigative detective that is looking into the circumstances around his death, including his relationship with Toni Mannix, played by Diane Lane, the wife of an MGM executive.

On a similar note, I hear that Jessica Biel is in the running to play Wonder Woman...

That happens, and i will die on the spot. DEAD I TELLS YOU!

My heart will not be able to handle the anticapation till it hits theaters.

Yeah, I can't think of a better actor to play almost-fully-paralyzed...

Affleck needs to just shut it down for a while.

He hasn't been in anything decent since "Good Will Hunting" and even in that, he wasn't more then a bit player.

He is the Travolta of the new Millenium, and needs to realize it before he ends up like Jerry Mathers, ala showing up at openings to coffee houses.

IMO he is a terrible actor with an even worse sense at picking films to star in.

Uh, you all realize this is George Reeves, who shot himself, not Christopher Reeve, who was paralyzed.
