I'd prefer not to talk politics with y'all! Yeah, I'm from KS, enough said?

Late November the Siouxsie and the Banshees boxset of b-sides and rarities will be released. 55 tracks, most of which I've never heard before and all of them remastered. I understand that some Peel sessions with Robert Smith are going to be included. I'd really like to hear Marco on guitar too. Wonder if I'll get my wish? Anyone else still have enough interest to be wanting to snap this up?

Speaking of remastered, the catalog has been, or is currently being remastered and set to be released in 2005. Anyone who is even a perpipheral fan knows that the analog hiss on their discs is atrocious. I'm going to need to pick up some more hours just to pay for Siouxsie.

You know, I have never really heard enough of Siouxie to really make up my mind on her and the band one way or the other. I really suppose that I should remedy this situation at some point, but there is just so much other music out there that I want to get that it hasn't been a very pressing priority.

I did see them at the 1st Lolapalooza and wasn't blown away, though.

I listened to (and enjoyed) Peepshow and Supersition back in the early 90s. It was basically a Lollapalooza warmup. The set was decent, but they didn't play "Scarecrow", damnit! In due fairness, it was a tough slot between Living Colour and Jane's.

Don't know any of their older material, though.

I'm guessing you guys are in your 20's? Not that you had to be a music geek in the 80's to be into this band. They were certainly doing there own little thing and the fashion turned just as many people off as on. If you're not into the sound and style (of music, not dress) I wouldn't suppose there'd be a lot to go back for. Interesting band though with lots of claim to fame. A few highlights for me:

Marco Pironni-left to become Adam Ant's right hand man. No biggie unless you just happen to be a huge fan of Adam and the Ants, which I am.

Robert Smith-duh!

John Simon Ritchie-who of course become Sid Vicious

Budgie-former slits and Big In Japan and is currently just about my fave drummer.

This is EXCITING news! I'm a huge, huge Siouxsie fan! And intend on adding this set to my collection. Thanks for the great news!
