ESCAPE FROM BLIGHTY!
THE WONDER STUFF ANNOUNCE NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES IN SUPPORT OF 3/22
ALBUM RELEASE ESCAPE FROM RUBBISH ISLAND

Hot on the heels of the pending release of The Wonder Stuff's first studio
album in twelve years, Escape From Rubbish Island, the band is in the
process of gearing up for its first North American tour since 1994.

The UK chart and critical darlings first achieved U.S. alternative radio
success in the 90s with "The Size of a Cow" off of their Never Loved Elvis
record and a fan base on these shores attracted to their witty, biting and
melodic tunes. Of their twenty-two UK singles, seventeen of them reached
Top 20, including a number one and four of their albums have hit the UK Top 20.

The Wonder Stuff line up 2005 consists of band founders Miles Hunt
(vocals/guitar) and Malc Treece (guitar/vocals) with the new additions of
former RDF (Radical Dance Faction) bassist Mark McCarthy and Andres
Karu, former drummer for Love In Reverse. As Miles said in the summer
of 2004, "It's taken a line up change, not our first admittedly, but
when it comes to getting a record right, a band has gotta do what a
band has gotta do."

And these guys gotta tour, as according to Miles, "Malc and I feed on
playing live, that's why even during times that I haven't had a full band
line up, I've continued to do regular one man live shows. I rate all of the
Wonder Stuff records, of course, but our real strength was, and still is,
playing as a live band."

Escape From Rubbish Island is a twisted homage or "Dear John" letter
if you will to frontman Miles Hunt's un-cherished British home. Hunt
and company will have their wish to get out of Blighty, at least for
the short term, for this tour which starts in early April.

Don't miss your chance to catch this captivating live show. Welcome
to the Escape!

Very cool. I didn't even know they had a new album coming out. 3-1 odds they'll open these shows with "It's Yer Money I'm After, Baby".

"Welcome to the Cheap Seats" is probably one of my Top Ten most hated songs.

Wow, I had no idea they were even still together. I remember buying that album on import vinyl before it was released in the U.S. Too bad the stuff they released after that wasn't in the same vein and/or wasn't nearly as good.

I'm not a fan of that song either, but top ten most hated? Like, it comes ahead of "Seasons In The Sun," "The Night Chicago Died", "Playground In My Mind", "Candle In The Wind", "Nookie", "How You Remind Me", "Take Me Out", "Tears In Heaven", and "Old Time Rock And Roll"?
