Time for me to post a new Hop On Pop recording...
"Sheila of the Worms"

I really wasn't planning on recording this tune this weekend, it just kinda happened. I, myself, kinda think it's a fun little ditty and nothing more. We'll see where it fits in on the record.

Thanks for listening and for the feedback.
And, of course, for your patience.

Even though I gave you a chance to just vote anonymously, I also appreciate honest feedback, in the written form.

Thanks!
(And yeah, I know where this is headed, too. ;) )

Todd you fucking chief.

What can I say. You are easily the nicest and most genuine dude on this fucking board.

And this this breathes it.

It doesn't SOUND like them a whole lot, but the SONGWRITING is definitely evoking Dinosaur Jr for me.

Bear in mind I am very drunk. And I'm listening to dinosaur Jr.

But! My remarks stand and remain....

Wow.
Thanks, Mick! You're a pretty good guy, yourself. I appreciate the comments (and the compliments).

Easily the best song by an Obner that I've ever heard.

There is a hint of J. Mascis in your voice. And it is a fun song.

This is a great example of why Todd is the most entertaining solo acoustic singer/songwriter I know.

I know it's a bit contrived here, but I think it's good that you're trying to capture that great vibe that you project when you perform live on this next record, Todd. Unlike most other solo acoustic performers I know, you have the ability to win over a crowd with your charm and quirks.

IMO this song is perfectly nestled into the top end of your vocal range without veering into either Falsetto or strained territory, something we didn't pay enough attention to on Ethan.

Agreed. Don't strain or falsetto.

Don't even tempt it.

Agreed, the lyrics could have come off really weird but they somehow, well came off pretty awesome.

The whole song was pretty damn great Todd!

Can't stream at work and my internet is out at home. Hopefully it's back on tonight. 3 Days now and I am starting to have the shakes...

I love the song title though.

Thanks!
And yeah, the lyrics were kind of my stab at Hitchcock-esque surrealism. Good call!

And thanks, Matt (SK), for what you said. That was really nice of you.

I dig it for what it is, a crisp bouncy quirky little pop folk tune.

she's a catchy little bugger, and the sound quality fits the song.

the live stuff made me cringe a little.

I'm taking it down later today. Thanks so much for listening and for the feedback. It's actually helped a lot.

It was John, really. He's quite the local celebrity; can whip together a crowd at the drop of a hat!
