if (when) carolina wins, the obner march madness will end up in a tie between myself and opa.

opa's tiebreaker score: 88-84

elephantstone's tiebreaker score: 85-78

this is just a great response, chase. Though i am committed to rooting for UNC, I got a bad feeling about this'n. They have really played just good enough to not lose for most of the tourney, andmaybe their talent will shine on, but I got a bad feeling.

Since I refuse to root for perennial contenders, I guess I have to lean towards Illinois, but I mean what kind of standards can I use here? Plus of all the powerhouse teams, UNC is the one I grew up watching, and Roy Williams needs a freakin' bone, ya know?

Just for the record. I started a Yahoo group for work, and the guy winning it is tied for 30th place in the whole yahoo league. that is about 1,000,000 entries. He has Illinois.

that's what i'm feeling too. still, they DID play well enough to beat everyone up to this point, including beating the crap out of a michigan st team that had me pretty scared. i think that their main weakness is this feeling that they can turn on the juice and will win, because let's face it, that's what's happened.

Illinois - 76

Chapel Hill Lakers - 70

Part of me wants Roy to get one but it's just hard for me to root for a team with 4 potential NBA draft picks when I have no real stake in the game.

I just like the way Illinois plays ball.
