The hyperbole by the selection committee this year was a fucking joke.

The complete dismissal of the SEC and the ridiculous fawning over the Big East is shameful.

Yeah--what's with the SEC tourney champ getting a 13 seed? Even worse, my Dawgs have to play them in the first round.

Oh well.

Be afraid dude. That is a DANGEROUS game. They're athletic as hell and have possibly the best shot blocker of ALL TIME in the SEC in Jarvis Varnado. I checked his stats earlier and he had over 160 blocked shots this year. The guy nearest him in the SEC had only 70 something.

I can't defend the out of conference scheduling of the SEC this year but if Miss St hadn't won yesterday it's likely that the SEC would've only had 2 teams in the tourney which is UNFATHOMABLE. It's not like we all of a sudden became the Sun Belt.

Since the SEC went to 12 teams a 10-6 record in conference has gotten a team in 100% of the time. South Carolina and Auburn both went 10-6. Florida went 9-7 so it's tougher to argue but they had over 20 wins including a win over your Huskies.

I just think the media perception was out of whack this year.

I was reading about Varnado this morning--4.6 blocks per game! That's incredible. He's also their leading scorer. But he is smallish (210 lbs) for a 4, so I'm hopeful Brockman can knock him around some.

UW is very athletic and likes to play up tempo too. We also have dominated on the boards and have been playing some pretty tough D down the stretch, so although I wouldn't be surprised with an upset, I'm hopeful we can pull it off.

I would've rather been playing Akron, though.

UConn only has 147 as a team followed by Louisville at 109 and Syracuse at 88.

Edit: after checking your stat, Miss St. only has 99 blocks as a team, so maybe that 170 is career?

Edit 2: some of the conference stats posted can't be right, because Jarvis has played 35 games at 4.7 blocks per game which is 165 blocks...

Not sure what site you're checking Timmy but I checked ESPN and SECSports.com and they both have him with 165 blocks on the season.

Regardless, he's gotdamn animal.

It's a Yahoo group, sorry, I should have posted that for people. Most of the regulars for College Football know this, but I forgot that we have such a large base for March Madness.

So there's only 8 people in this group - are we combining with another, or is this it?

I think that just means that you have 1 bracket in this group, so can't create any more.
