I know it's been said before, buuut... TORCHE fucking destroys live.

I saw them last night and it was a great show to watch... to listen to... and, most of all, to feel. I saw them in a medium-sized club, opening for dredg. After they sound-checked, the singer/guitarist walked up to the mic with a mischievous smirk on his face and said, "Hope you brought your eeeear pluugs...!" before immediately launching into their first song, which was inSANELY loud.

They are now a trio, having lost their long-haired guitar player... but if you ask me, judging by the videos on youtube, they're not missing anything. Despite being loud, the bass/drums/and guitar were balanced reallly well. The only thing that couldn't keep up were the vocals... but if I could pick one thing I can't hear at a show like that, vocals would be it. Singer/guitarist has a carefree swagger that made it seem like he was just up there having the time of his life... that kind of enthusiasm is catchy.

Might not be the best show I've seen this year (*cough*Gomez*/cough*), but definitely the most electric 30 minutes I've experienced in years.

Torche, ovver here, are on Relapse... Maybe you're thinking of the recently-broken-up Aereogramme, who were really loud/good live and/or the still together (and really good) Part Chimp.

I want to see TORCHE live really badly, but not badly enough to go to a Dredg show.

yeah, the dredg/torche tour combo is really bizarre.

this band rules. they are so good and they are really awesome dudes.

i'm debating whether or not i feel like going to va beach to see them tomorrow night.. i've seen them multiple times and will see them again soon, so i don't know.

anyways, i'm glad you were into them.
