A band I've always liked when I heard them but never deeply explored. I'm sure Chrissie and company give it their all and they seem like they'd put on a helluva show.
I'm honestly on the fence. Tix are $32-$35, which isn't terrible but not an amount I'd drop without weighing it out first.

Anyone seen them and have experiences to report?

They shouldn't be charging that much in 2009. When was the last time they put out something that mattered?

Do you have directv? if you do, they are showing the pretenders set at some farm aid concert regularly. You could watch that and decide based on it. I tivoed it but haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

Otherwise, FWIW, I've never seen them but i'd probably go for $30-35 if its not too big a venue.

It's at a not huge 2,000 capacity outdoor theater where I've never seen a bad show.
Prolly be a game-time decision.

And I honestly like the new single ("Boots Of Chinese Plastic").

If only to bask in the glory of that voice.

i'm debating this now, too. they're coming back around in august. i'm not a huge fan, but i really like those first few records.

openers are cat power and juliette & the licks, though. i guess i'd go late.

Yeah, that tour is making a stop at one of the Casinos near Omaha. I'd hate to miss out on a line-up like that, but am not a real big fan of any of those artists.

Saw Chrissy & co. ten years ago at Lilith Fair. They ruled. My only hesitation for paying for a headlining gig would be not knowing enough of their material (if that matters).

Also, Juliette has got some serious pipes.

Juliette and the Licks -- she was incredibly horrible, the band was quite talented. She has gotten rid of the old band and replaced it entirely.
