Timmy's invention thread and the comments about computer use in movies got me thinking. This 1970's Saturday morning series was a staple of my youth. I loved it. So much so that when I saw that the entire original series was now available on DVD, I was very tempted to pick it up. Of course, most of this coincides with the new Will Ferrell flick. Nevertheless, it brought back some great memories. Anyway, the Chiller channel has been replaying the original series back-to-back-to-back this last week or so, and I was happy to stop the surfing when I saw this and watch. Whoa! This is cheesier than Lambeau on a Sunday afternoon in fall. The effects are so comical, that it is almost good. Sorta gave me that "you can't go home again" feeling. Needless to say, I won't be getting those DVD's now. Nor will I be seeing the movie. Some things are better left in our memories.

what the hell is the Chiller channel? I can't tell if that's supposed to mean scary, relaxing, or lime-flavored beer.

You must not have DirecTV. Meant to be scary, but they struggle to find content.

I watched damn near every episode during the Memorial Day marathon on Sci-Fi and they have been showing it on that channel as well during the early evening/late afternoon hours.

I loved the original series as a kid. Even took a visit to Sid and Marty Kroft Land (indoor amusement park near Atlanta) with the family!

I've been afraid that the old series wouldn't hold up. However, I am looking forward to the new movie. The previews are a lot of fun.

Chiller is the Sci-Fi spinoff featuring all their awful z-grade monster and zombie flicks starring pretty people, plus old TV shows that appeal to 40 years olds who never outgrew Sigmund & The Sea Monsters and have a need to see Friday The 13th The Series.

The movie looks like a complete pile of steamy shit, I am glad it tanked in its opening week. Good God, How could you turn a campy 70's kids show into a Will Ferrell comedy?

I bet Sammy Hagar is behind this somehow.
