i'm undecided so far. i don't think i've listened to it all the way through, but i've heard all the tracks i think. i don't know...mixed feelings i guess. nothing i'll praise for sure, but it might be halfway enjoyable.

very generic, formulaic album. a slight change musically from his last album, but a big bland turd compared to play, imo

that said, i still kinda like it.

A guitarist's interjection on all things "Moby:"

He desperately needs to stop playing guitar on his own albums. I respect him (in a "don't wanna buy his albums" kinda way), and wish him no ill, but he's NOT a very good guitar player, to be polite about it, and I'm not a guitar snob. The solos on every song are waaaay to similar to the crap I heard pouring out of the bandroom as a highschool student, tone included. Three, four notes tops, with a "bendy" as Tenacious D would say, and super-bad fuzz tone. Just awful. Makes me cringe every time, and seriously I like the guy, personally. He's ok. He had great comments on VH1 about Def Leppard, concerning Thomas Dolby playing on Pyromania. But he can afford to hire someone decent on guitar, yet he doesn't, presumably because he doesn't realize that he's not good.

No more posting after drinking, sorry.

This album has really grown on me. I really liking it, and im looking forward to seeing him in concert at the Riv.

As far as his guitar work goes...do you really listen to moby for blazing guitar solos? :D I think what he does with the guitar works for the song, which is much more important than how incredible a solo he plays. imo

It's not whether there's a solo or not. Or even whether said solo is "blazing." It's this tinny, thin, highschool, cheap sound he has, as well as what he's playing, like he let a 13-yr old kid play it. I can't explain it. I HATE guitar gymnastics, and really don't pay an awfully large amount of attention to guitars in music, especially in something like Moby music, but when he features a guitar part, having it come up in the mix and stand out, it just sounds reeeally crappy. It should compliment the music, and it doesn't. It's a strange hole in his otherwise perfectionist armour.

My opinion of Moby: He needs to smoke some pot and eat a steak.

Just listened to it today. There's maybe one or two tracks that are reaching for the radio (in a bad way), but for the most part an enjoyable listen. i like the fact that he's allowing a little more of his range show (not a lot, and not enough IMO, but some) on this album, rather than conceptual/flowing albums "Play" and "18". I'll definitely be spinning this quite a bit more.

Before I sell it back- I'll just save myself the trouble and skip buying it.

Not interested. Never was a fan of Moby. As much into electronic music I am, his stuff has always been BLAH to me.

It's slowed down and awful. I thought it was a joke when i heard it on KEXP.

I just heard "Sipping Away" on KEXP. If it is indicative of the rest of the album, I would buy it.

the more i listen to it the more i think it's bland & uninspired. the lyrics are pedestrian and his singing is close to awful. ironically, i long for his "play-part-two" album 18 after this one.

Again my question- why is KEXP playing this?
