wow. three of those bands are playing pitchfork's festival the same weekend. i remember dungen doing that in '05 and everyone being like "oh my god, you're playing new york and chicago on the same weekend?!" i guess it's not a big deal anymore.

this was SOOO fun.
it renewed my love for Built to Spill.
I would never go if I didn't have the VIP pass though - you get to stand up front and free drinks, etc.

Frank Black's band was aiight, his wife Violet is AWESOME.
Finally caught the Oh See's and never put two and two together that a friend is dating one of them...
Amanda Blank came out with Spankrock, that was fun.

they had a good line up this year but it's really not worth the insane heat, awful sound and shit ton of hipsters.

it's NY. It's hipster land. And the term is over used at this point. Hipsters are to now what preppies were in the 80s.

the VIP is mostly press people. The only reason I got in was bc a friend was doing dj sets between bands. Who would say no to a non-crowded area with free food and drink and shade? Otherwise, like shiv said, it's kinda miserable.

I don't like big crowds and would avoid this were I to have to go into one!
