caught a small show ("surprise show") last night...she didn't do it for me the first time around but
WOW
she is incredible live.
My friend who works at the club pointed out that you start to get used to seeing bands but a performance like hers snaps you out of it.

She rocks the guitar but has clarinet, sax, violin and keyboards played by her backing band.
She was REALLY good....
check her out if you can! (She just finished a tour...anyone else go?)

Does she write better songs for the live shows?

I was actually thinking that her songs aren't so great, but they are much better when performed live.

I think it's the Glenn Branca connection, combined with the sweet pop thing (is that what she does?) that gets my interest piqued.

I don't know, the couple of samples I've heard sound pretty sweet, and dark, and more than a hint of pure pop.

I do wanna hear more.

I don't hear anything dark. All I hear is late 00s typical female vocals over late 00s typical music. But without the hint of a song. Plus stupid lyrics.

She's one of those artist that I just don't get the love for. She seems completely unremarkable in a sea of sameness.

i gave her last album a shot and it was pretty forgettable. not terrible but not good enough to get me to want to hear anything else from her. agree with oldbulee - bland.

I liked her but didn't love her but she really brought it on live. One of those people that are just way better live.
