This is the first round of the tournament stage. Please vote for the album that you feel should move on to the second round.

To encourage as many votes as possible, the deadline to vote will be Wednesday at 2:00PM Eastern.

I like Joe Jackson. But this is a no-brainer for PE.

PE's certainly the more important album and probably the better album too. I respect it and on some level like it. Its a very poor soundtrack to any aspect of my life though so I'm gonna have to go with Look Sharp.

See, I love cranking that PE, with the windows down, driving through my old neighborhood -- white, affluent, and Jewish.

It sounds real good that way.
Oh, and it's funny to do so.

DON'T KVETCH ABOUT THE HYPE!!!

As a matter of quality, this is a lot closer than most of you are letting on.

I say this as someone who depending on the day holds "Nation of Millions..." as my favorite album ever.

But that Joe Jackson record is goddamn phenomenal and I'd voter for it in a heartbeat over about 80% of the entire field in this round.

All that said; PE

There was this time I tripped and fell in high school, a bunch of people laughed. I was listening to Nation of Millions. Fuck Public Enemy.

I like Public Enemy, but y'all do realize they are just the token so we can all feel inclusive, right?

Well, OK, I do gotta credit the Bomb Squad for some hellacious beats on this thing.

I think more hip hop/rap albums would have made it had there been more and better choices in the preliminaries. For example, it was mentioned at the time but Dre's Chronic probably would have made the cut.

Agreed.

I would vote for it over Wu Tang (and a lot of these albums for that matter)

I have a love hate relationship with The Chronic, but that was a massive album in the history of hip hop, regardless.

I just liked the West Coast stuff much more than the stuff happening in NYC.

When Wu Tang, Nas, Jay Z were all coming up I just never really liked their stuff as much as Dre, Snoop, or Tupac's. Then all the ATL artists blew up and I preferred them too.

EDIT: Although Biggie was the shit.
