Did my dad, Alan, really ever think this was a credible piece of technology?

When the Sony Walkman was launched, 30 years ago this week, it started a revolution in portable music. But how does it compare with its digital successors? The Magazine invited 13-year-old Scott Campbell to swap his iPod for a Walkman for a week.

I have to admit I still use my walkman on occasion. Not often, but I have quite a few tapes that I have been too lazy to ever move over or search for a digital copy of that I get a hankering to listen to while I'm mowing the lawn or working out every now and then. I don't know how old it is, but it still works, so I give some credit to the thing.
