Marvin Gaye: The Master

4 discs worth of Marvin Gaye classics? Yup, so hard to go wrong. Includes all the hits, including duets with Mary Wells, Kim Weston, Tammi Terrell, and Diana Ross. Also includes a good chunk of album tracks and about a dozen or so early songs that got their first release as part of this set. An excellent collection of music, spanning the career of an all-time great.

WOW!

That takes me back. Beat's so lonely. I remember seeing him getting a lap dance in an Austin strip joint back around '89 or '90.

Yeah, I haven't heard this in forever. Came across it on a blog. Some of the songs are still good, but damn, and I never thought I'd be the one to complain about this, the 80s production is just brutal.

Yeah, it definitely suffers from '80s overload from top to bottom, all the way to Sexton's entire look.

Jimmy Cliff: Anthology

You want a career overview of Jimmy Cliff? This is the one to get. It covers his work over a series of record labels and spans sounds from his early ska tracks through his 70s reggae sounds to some funky later tracks and more. All the big hits, Many Rivers to Cross, Sitting Here In Limbo, his versions of Wild World and I Can See Clearly Now, collected with a slew of album tracks. 2 CDs, 42 tracks. Great stuff.
