Is it useful? Should I sign up? Keep in mind that I'm not a fan of myspace.

I think I might be but I never used it. I haven't a clue on how it works.

I find it useful in reconnecting keeping up with friends who are scattered around the country/world.

Other than that, you know, it's fun.
Depends on what you want to do with it, I think.

Yeah. You're a member of the Obner group. I just checked.

I've had an account for a while, but I only check it every few weeks. Haven't taken the time to figure it out, because I have too many accounts in too many places to keep up with them all as it is. Makes me dizzy in the brain trying to hold all those passwords.

sign up solely for Scrabulous. It has cut my productivity at work in half.

Facebook had been a nice, clean (visually) alternative to the myspace. However, in the past, what? 8 months? facebook has allowed external applications (as alluded to in iron & beer's post) that users can add. While most people haven't gone overboard, some people do. They go way overboard and their pages take ages to load and are just frustrating to navigate. So Facebook, in an attempt to offer more options and become more versatile, eliminated one of its main strongholds against myspace. It is still nicer and cleaner than myspace... but not enough so that if you aren't interested in myspace that facebook will be any better.

I'm sticking with myspace. I got too many useless e-mails for applications and shit from facebook so I deleted my account.

I just turned off the option of getting emails from facebook.

Made my email box so much simpler to deal with.

Facebook rules Myspace for social networking. Myspace is badder for music.

Facebook was/is good for finding old college friends, and the lack of porn spam and phishing schemes is nice. Myspace is clearly better for music and doesn't include a bunch of random applications for your profile page. I use both, but check my Myspace much more frequently.

I have Facebook but I'm not sure what I really use it for other than playing Scrabble.

I use facebook primarily for communicating with people when I don't want to talk to them on the phone, also it's good for hitting on girls, which isn't as creepy as it sounds, and finding parties.

I don't have MySpace, but I do have Friendster. What I like about Facebook is that it's quite robust and much more active. It gives me updates on what my friends are doing (assuming they want to send updates). A lot of my grad school classmates post their travel plans, photos, etc. and they tag each other and stuff, so it's a great way to keep in touch.

the craplications (widgets) take over facebook overwhelming its utility. myspace has redesigned it's home page to be much more useable, while keeping the customization feature. it's not overrun by craplications, its music function is second to none. i just like it better.

i decided that facebook is only useable by deleting most of the bs applications that i initially installed.

myspace sends updates about what your friends are doing now too. New picture added, new blog post, etc.
