This is the second round of the tournament stage. Please vote for the album that you feel should move on to the quarterfinals (aka Sweet 16).

To encourage as many votes as possible, the deadline to vote will be Monday at 2:00PM Eastern.

Fuck. I don't like either one. But I have listened to Daydream Nation at least once or twice in the past year, so it wins.

I'd rather have the Boss here.

So, I literally turned on Daydream Nation for the first time ever. 1:20 into the first song - is there ANY reason to finish listening to this, or does it continue at this level of suckitude?

Sonic Youth is my musical BFF, so they get my obvious vote here.

SY all the way. 2/3rds of the album is really great, it's the latter 1/3 that gets middling.

Sonic Youth. Sgt Peppers is the one Beatles album I can't listen to... despite day in the life. Of course it's only because it is overplayed and I can't even hear it as music anymore, but can't hear means can't hear. SY and their artrock noisy edge never get old to me.

If Teenage Riot ain't fucking rock & roll to you, you ain't got that swing.

Sgt. Peppers is a piece of shit, and while there is a tonne of filler on Daydream Nation (and most SY records), it still wins for me.

I'd have to say you should give Silver Rocket a listen. I always thought that was a standout.

Sonic Youth

GAR, some of your declarations really confuse me. Almost as much as your driving mocassins.

I kept listening. Not horrible by any means, but also not something I feel the need to revisit. Like a lot of music that people around here swoon over, it left me a little cold.
