so my plans to go to sasquatch have been kieboshed and my backup is to go to milwaukee around summerfest-time. was wondering if chicago has any good concerts or fests around that time that'd be worth my while?

Well we have the week long Taste of Chicago which is a festival of sorts as they usually get some decent bands/artists playing, but not always.

The XRT 4th of July concert which is free and in Grant Park is almost always good provided it's neither storming or 102 degrees out. Cracker, Wilco and even the Replacements have played it(isn't this where they broke up onstage? that's what I've always heard). And many other really cool bands.

Otherwise there will sure to be some good concerts going on around that date.

I hear there'll be fireworks...
