This is the first part (the group stage) in Obner's efforts to pick the best album released in the 2000s. In the group stage, there will be 64 groups of 5 albums. The top vote-getter in each group will advance to the 64-album tournament.

Please vote for the album that you feel deserves to be in the tournament. The deadline for this group is Friday, July 31 at 1:00PM Eastern Time.

I couldn't bring myself to vote for the Dismemberment Plan. Just wasn't as good as I had hoped, after Emergency & I.

Well I've heard Justice and Flaming Lips. The former is not memorable for me, and I can't bring myself to give Flaming Lips the benefit of the doubt.

i could've gone can ox too. neither has a chance around here though.

i like that dismemberment plan but i never listen to it much.

i think that flaming lips album is kind of overrated.

and i dont' really enjoy the black lips recorded output.

Voted for one of my least favorite Flaming Lips albums. It really hasn't aged very well, and to me it sounds more of-its-time than anything else they've done.

That Can Ox album is alright, but I was always a little bit disappointed in it.

Really dislike that D-Plan album. I came around on Emergency and I after a while, but Change... I'll never understand what anyone hears in that.
