Have no more than 700 to spend, which given the exchange rate right now, is like 800 US. I'd like to spend less if I can get away with it.

All I care about is the piano sound, and realistic, weighted keys. An organ sound or something would be nice though too. I don't want versatility, eg. a synth in any shape or form. Just want a nice piano sound and a good feel.

Also, portability is paramount.

Cheers.

used nord electro. New they run $1300-$2k, but if you can find one used in that price range, pounce on it.

edit: this is a cheap price on a new one ($1199):

Those are waterfall keys, not weighted keys. Still, that'd be a piece of gear you would use forever and never ditch. So portable, and amazing sounds for the price. The only keyboard i like better is the Nord Stage at almost 3 times the price.

That means he might be able to support you in your old age.

See, I really don't need those effects. I only really want a piano sound.

waterfall keys are non-weighted organ style keys.

The electro is basically a few really good sounds, organ, piano, rhodes, wurli, electric piano, etc...

not really synths at all. It's for people who want all those good electrical hammer key sounds and nothing else in a lightweight package.

The Stage has a bunch of crap you don't need, but the piano sounds are more realistic (not that the electro's are bad, they're actually great), the leslie simulator for the organ sounds is awesome, and it has weighted keys.

I found one of these in the trash outside my neighbor's building:

[img][650:488]http://img1.classistatic.com/cps/l/kj/09/5/1/135/r1/902759n_20.jpeg[/img]

It won't switch to any other sound except piano, which is probably a good thing. I've been learning a lot about playing piano / keys from noodling with it, which is very cool.
