RIP, John.

The films he directed were pretty good, but he sure wrote a ton of crap films over the last decade or so under the alias Edmond Dantes.

Looks like there'll be a little less film work for my dad now.

Some good stuff that I grew up on, including the last great Hollywood stereotype (Long Duk Dong).

this sucks, I don't know anyone who isn't impacted by those films. Some of the most joyous moments in pop culture/film history.

captured teenage ennui, enthusiasm, strife and angst like no other filmmaker. RIP.

This does, however, open the floodgates for countless sequels, and remakes of his films. Which is not cool.

So you're saying Edmond got CRAZY paid.

Also, I'll admit to actually liking "Dutch".

I'm not saying he didn't make alot of loot, he just wrote some relatively shitty films that spawned an infinite number of shitty sequels. He also went from being the "King of teen angst" to a writer of blockbuster, crapfest children's movies.
