BSS is one of the albums that I really tried with due to the number of recommendations it got but I hated it instantly and it never grew on me at all. See: Loveless, NMH, etc.

I liked "Chutes..." well enough when it came out but haven't been drawn back to it very much over the years, save for one song on the best mix I've ever made in my life.

BSS, though. Wow. Underwhelmed in a big way after hearing raves but I kept going back and it got more and more sumptuous each time. Don't love it, but it totally holds up and I like it a little more with every listen.

i have both albums....and never got into the Shins album, i dont see anything special about it...sounds very indie popish but without any memorable melodies

fkn love that BSS album!
