Looks like there's goona be a shitload of shows I wanna see here in April, but this one has me particularly excited:

Notown Sound Fest at Eyedrum:

No-Neck Blues Band
Sunburned Hand of the Man
Charalambides
Excepter
Hair Police

+many more TBA

I know most of you don't know or particularly care about those bands, but this looks like the place to check them out if you're at all interested. Personally, I'm really excited about seeing Charalambides, and NNCK, SHotM, and Excepter should be a lot of fun, too.

It's April 2 and 3 (Sat & Sun) but I don't know yet how much it will cost (doubt it will be much since it's at Eyedrum). Some of you guys should definitely check this out.

If it's a festival then it might be start in the afternoon and I am definitely interested. I am about 3 hours away though. I definitely want to see NNCK, SHOTM, Excepter and Hair Police.

Edit: And Sole will be there too.

Edit Again: Apparently it starts at 5pm both days. Nice.

I've seen 2 or 3 shows (music) at Eyedrum. They've been in the small front room, but I hope for this festival that they manage to utilize more of the space they have.

Also, I live within walking distance from it. :)

Did anyone here ever go to Eyedrum back when it was on Trinity in downtown? I remember seeing some awful shows (music) there, but I also remember some good times there when I was in college.

I had only been there for an art installation, I didn't drive, I have no clue.

Yeah, I went to a couple of openings there. How is this front room at the new joint as a music venue Drinky?

I'd probably be willing to swing in and at least check out the Saturday show.

Thanks Drinky!

At the very least it looks interesting. I've only heard about a couple of those. I could be down.

Did you click on the tight bros. link? There are some crazy shows coming up at the Drunken Unicorn.

It's kinda small, but, of course, it's still way bigger than the old place. It's good for shows where the audience is seated (Charalambides will ideally be such, and possibly some of the others), but it's kind of awkwardly shaped and laid out. Generally the shows I've seen there have been super laid-back. It's not the best venue, but I definitely prefer it to the Drunken Unicorn.

Also, I just checked that Tight Bros. link, and there are a lot of good shows coming here this spring. I need to start marking my calendar so I don't miss any of this stuff.

Also, it's kinda unfortunate that a lot of bands that would have been playing the Echo Lounge are now playing the shitty Drunken Unicorn, but on the other hand, it's completely awesome that some of the bigger ones will be playing at the Variety instead. I love that place, but they hardly ever book shows that I want to go to.
