Has anyone here witnessed the spectacle that is in concert? Trying to gauge to what lengths it's worth going to get tickets. Your insight is duly appreeshed.

In person, no. On TV, yes.

I have a friend who saw them once, & said they were so loud they cleared out the bar in about 15 minutes. If that's not quality I dunno what is.

Black bands outnumber Wolf bands, always will, though you forgot a few. Now let's drop that tangent.

I realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly want/need to see them but the closest they were playing was NYC this past weekend. I guess they're adding more shows so I hope they come back up the east coast before they leave.

Think messier, screamier, more distorted version of BMRC vs. Kishidan vs. Cooper TEmple Clause. It is, afterall, rock-roll Japanoise to the nth. You won't be able to make much of the lyrics (if you're even able to hear them over the slash & drone), but it won't really matter. You'll be spending most of the night thrashing about & wondering why Seiji, the guitarist, hasn't fixed the three strings he broke five songs ago. The don't give a fuck and they'll kick you in the eye to prove it. The most raw energy at a live performance I've ever witnessed and probably the most raucous, too. I've got the scar to prove it. Easily one of my favorite Japanese acts.

They make Memphis audiences act interested, and sometimes even dance. High praise, indeed.

edit - OR, think Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, but louder.

You would be a knucklehead, yes. But, to each his own. I wouldn't recommend them to Pumachik, but I'd give you & Drinky & Austin Colin & chase the definite nod. And discostu.

Nothing to do with Guitar Wolf, but seeing the name always reminds me of this local band I always use to see play in Long Island..Seemed that they opened every show at Sundance.

Guitar Pete and Snakeyed Sue.

Hehe, yeah I kept hearing about this band and checked out some of their stuff... definitely not my thing.

I'll take Wolf Parade over Guitar Wolf any day. But, to each their own!!!
