Not sure if this is going to make sense, but I'll try.

When windows goes into hibernate, I have to enter my password in order to wake it up again, which is good. The annoying part though is that the 'switch user' option is not available from the lock screen.

This means that if a friend is over, I have to unlock the machine first in order for them to access the guest account. I'd really like someone to be able to wake it up and access the guest account without powering down the system if I'm not around.

Is there any way to add a switch user option to the wake up/lock screen?

When my computer's locked, it has my profile with the box for the password and below that a button that says "Switch User". Yours doesn't have that?

Nope, it has my profile, then a line that says "Locked" and a password box.

And in the lower right, I've got ease-of-access and a change language button.

No power options or switch user button.

Strange innit?

UPDATE: Found it. Had to change a registry setting. The manufacturer probably changed the default.

My biggest peeve with Vista is Windows Explorer. Gawd they made some really stupid changes and there is no way to get it back the way I want it.

There are far too many hidden settings. There used to be a tool called tweakui for xp that helped you get to a lot of them. Don't know if there's one for Vista.

Windows not Internet Explorer.

I've switched to using FreeCommander, but it seems to be really slow and can be a little quirky but it is a lot better.

There's a company making commercialware tools for XP, Vista, and 7, but I don't think there's a TweakUI for Vista.

I don't use hibernation or a guest account, so I'm pretty useless with the actual question. Sorry bro.

Here's a question:

Instead of continuing to spend money trying to make their perpetually shitty browser as good as Firefox, why doesn't Microsoft spend a FRACTION of that amount to scrap IE and make Firefox their official browser by hiring the entire Firefox team and letting them run Microsoft's browser operation??? You know, if you can't beat them, buy them...just don't CHANGE them!

Is there really any money in a browser?
I bet IE is the preferred browser because it sucks at blocking ads, so people continue to invest in internet ads. If everyone used Firefox, everyone would find the ad blocker and then the internet loses a huge chunk of its marketing capabilities.

I wish I could figure out how to find the 'select all' in folders for vista.
