So, I was listening to the only Sonny Rollins album that I own last night -- The Bridge -- and was really enjoying it.

I know that Saxophone Colossus is the next one I should get, according to most of the jazz geeks. But where to after that? Or are those the only ones that I really need?

Obner jazz-bos?

He's got a huge catalog so I can't say I am familiar with everything he's done, but I can point out a couple of my favorites:

Way Out West

The Sound Of Sonny

I actually like both of these more than Saxophone Colossus. They come across as less showy and more melodic, which is how I like my jazz. Both mid 50s stuff. I probably listen to The Sound of Sonny more than any other Rollins not named Henry.

Way Out West is really good. That and Saxophone Colossus are all I have. So I'm really interested in other people's responses here...
