Just thinking about Patti Smith singing
"Jesus Christ dies for somebody's sins, but not mine"
and was wondering what other songs there were that could be considered blatantly blasphemous.
Of couse, the aforementioned:
Patti Smith - "Gloria"
"the The - Armageddeon Days Are Here (Again)"
King Missile - "Jesus Was Way Cool"

(But that last one doesn't really say anything BAD about Jesus or God.)

Any others?
Maybe a good idea for a mix?

I would think XTC's "Dear God" is an obvious choice. The "no thorny crown" bit especially...

"I won't believe in heaven or hell, no saints, no sinners, no devil as well, no pearly gates, no thorny crown...."

Yes.
An obvious one that I forgot.

And, Dale, I am just not a Black Metal kinda guy. Give me some good titles... there have to be some hilarious ones out there.

It's not really blasphemy when your entire fanbase consists of atheists. It's just preaching to the choir.

The most obvious choice, it seems to me, is:

The Feederz - "Jesus Entering From the Rear"

I don't know a whole lot about metal, just what I've gathered / heard from hanging out with the odd person that's into it. In my experience, they have all been staunch atheists.

fans yes, but there are plenty of bands that stand behind what they write/perform about 100%.

Should we take a taxi, Jesus
Should we try to walk from here
I know you can walk on water
Can you walk on this much beer?

My favorite part of the tune is when he talks about feeling Jesus warmness and then realizes he pissed himself again.

It took me awhile to comprehend this exchange, but I'm going to want a followup nevertheless.

- Mick suggests that black metal fans are atheists and that the bands themselves are atheists, thus it's the same as Christians going to church.

- Dale disagrees and suggests that the fans are actually not atheists, but rather devil-worshiping lads and lasses. And acknowledges that while some fans may be atheists, the band's however are the Real Deal, Scandinavian eel rapists and the like. By extension, he also doesn't seem to think that atheism is blasphemous.

Have I got it?
