is really hardcore if you wean yourself off and re-introduce. A small coffee gets my heart at 500bpm now! (or causes an anxiety attack)

I actually knew that. Balthazar coffee is stronger than Dean and Deluca, lol.

I think I am 100% straight edge now and I think the more stuff you take out of your system the more you realize how affected you are by things, like even food now, I can feel hungover from too much sugar, etc.

Reasons why I had to go cold turkey almost 4 years ago.

It was a couple months before my wedding that I kept having horrible symptoms I was sure meant that of a heart attack. Even going so far as being ignored in a hospital ER for three hours before giving up and going home.

Then my new doc said to try quitting caffeine and seeing what happens. Sure enough the anxiety attacks lessened(though didn't quite go away, I don't always feel like I'm dying, just once in a while-hahaaa).

Starbucks once screwed up my order back in winter and gave me straight caffeine rather then decaf. Reason I knew was that I was so hyper and sick it wasn't even funny.

Yeah, won't go back. Ever.

Oh and Caribou coffee-decaf that is-is the worst. Decaf my ass.

cutting out caffeine and getting 30 min cardio 5-6 days week (even if it is just walking) makes a HUGE diff for me.

the initial break was easy for me, I kept getting really sick to my stomach last fall I couldn't eat or keep anything down and coffee was like acid, even decaf...

Has anyone on here actually drank it?
I was always curious about the monkey poop coffee, since it is suppose to be some of the best in the world.
I was wondering if it was worth the price and thoughts you are drinking coffee from a bean that passed through a primate's asshole.

Edit:
After reading wikipedia it is passed through a Civet or weasel's asshole.

Which is why I'm pretty much numb to anything.

I'm slowly heading down this path, though I don't suffer from the anxiety/heart rate stuff at all. I switched to black tea about a month ago after gradually slowing down the coffee intake and have been slowly (slowly) reducing the cups per day and replacing them with just water. I did notice that my general sense of energy had changed for the better with my bike commute, so that's already one for the plus column.

I mean, ultimately, I won't turn down a nice iced latte once the weather's turned warmer, enjoying a few cups now and then, etc. But I'm not too keen on returning to the days of 3-4 cups of coffee.

This may be too much info, but I gave it up for 4 months after about 20 plus years of cups day, and then just recently switched back to 1 cup in the morning. Basically, I did this because the entire time I was off the bean I was constipated, 2 days back on , and since then I've been as regular as a Pop Todd NP thread.

I drink it pretty regularly. I'd rather do coffee than soda.

Why haven't I tried to smuggle one of these into the country?

Its output is like $600/lbs. Its a regular golden goose.

*edit* oh wait...

However, a paper by Daniel Janies, et al in an early edition (February 2008) of the journal "Cladistics", posits that bats were the vector by which SARS entered the human population, not the civet.

probably not good to even take chances.
