Has anyone watched this?

I sat through 5 eps last night (I have the finale DVR'd). What kept me watching was the fact that the cinematography and acting (especially Ian McKellan) is great, but all of that nearly gets overshadowed by a dumbed-down Lynchian surreality. The fact that Hayley Atwell was involved didn't hurt either

I've never seen the British original from the late 60s.

I've caught the first two episodes and have the rest dvr'ed.

The original was great. I don't like this nearly as much so far. Its very slow moving. Also, Ian McKellen is great but I liked the idea of each episode having a new #2 (as in the original) better.

I've also seen the first two hours and will likely watch watch the last four. It's okay, not as much of a mindfuck as the original (though I wouldn't go so far as to call the original "great"). What's funny, is that it feels like it's trying really hard to be Lost, when Lost was influenced by the original.

i watched the first one last night. eh... i am trying really hard to distance it from the original because A) that ruled; B) this is the equivalent of a tim burton remake.

there are elements of it that i don't mind, though. and i do like the scenery of this village more than the original's.

I have to admit I did get caught up in the whole 313 / 6 / 41-5/Lucy love triangle thing and was rooting for 6 to hang on to "his" reality.

It was entertaining, McKellen was great and the actress playing 415 was hot. But it wasn't even 5% as good as the original.

Haven't watched this yet, but it's on the DVR along with the Monty Python series from IFC. If it goes like my attempt to watch the National Parks series, I'll end up deleting the last half of the episodes out of boredom and frustration.

that python "almost the truth" has been superb. i also deleted the last 3 episodes of the national parks series out of boredom. after the teddy roosevelt episode, nothing could compete.
