Steve McQueen, and I love it. Any suggestions of which album I should try next? Or should I just stop at SM?

Start in the '50s with Jerry Lee, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Little Richard, etal. and work your way up.

Appetite is probably the best pop song.

I just have the "38 Carat Collection", and it does me fine. They were never a band I needed to own whole albums from.

I'd like to suggest Jordan: The Comback.... which is a really odd concept album which combines 80's blue-eyed soul and lounge music, anthemic rock, baroque production and lyrics and storyline that meshes tin pan alley love songs with prophetic biblical allusion. The songs all cohere nicely in ways only uncovered by close attention.... it is a literature major's delight.

Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's one of my favorite 80's albums.

If there ain't an angel that holds you tonight, they never sang doo wop in heaven.

I agree with Harry. It's a bit sprawling to be sure, but never gets too uneven. Great listen all the way through.

I've had Steve McQueen in my "Saved Items" list on emusic for about a month now... downloading now. I remember being impressed with the samples.
