Which brings me to a question: I can only assume that the slew of "Cash For Gold" businesses and ads which have popped up over the last year are due to the recession. The question is: Is gold really that much of a profit maker for these companies to go the trouble of collecting all this old jewelry and shit? I mean, how much of a profit are they making on a handful of watches and broaches compared to what they are paying out?
