Is this worth a shit? I use FF exclusively...but I just ordered a 17" Powerbook so as not to give that cake to Barry instead...maybe I should upgrade to DAT CHROME?

I predict it will suck for a little while, get really good and then average out over time like most browsers. But if its like the Windows version, it will transfer over all your FF bookmarks and stuff and its not like there's any obligation or cost involved.

I've used all 4 a bunch (FF, IE, Safari, and Chrome) and Chrome is far and away my favorite. I've noticed the newest IE has copied a LOT of the features that make Chrome so great, and IE still sucks dees nutts.

I started using Chrome after Firefox started to feel sluggish with all the add-ons. The biggest difference I noticed was speed, so I stuck with it.

the big thing is the speed. It just loads pages so much faster than anything else (on my machine anyway). Also the look. It's very clean looking. IE just seems so cluttered when compared. The fact that when you open it all the pages you used last are still there is great (one of the ideas IE copied soon after).

I have a friend who constantly tells me Chrome is evil because is tracks everything you do on the net and stores all your info in a big google database. But he is paranoid about everything. Always telling me about chem trails, secret government operations, etc.

And there is an option to opt out of having chrome send any user info to google.

Dammit, stop comparing it to IE. Everything is better than IE.

I don't want to bother with this if it isn't significantly better than Firefox and Safari. I still prefer Safari on a Mac (& Firefox on PC).

Exactly the same situation as me. I miss some of the extensions, but overall I am super happy with Chrome.

Ok, it's faster than safari and firefox too, in my experience.

Just try it. It's free. If you don't like it, get rid of it. The PC version took a while for all the bugs to be worked out, so I dunno how the mac version will be on day 1, but like I say, just try it.

I use Chrome at work, because our network continually crashed FF. So far so good. I like its minimalism. Plus, in my experience, it loads pages much quicker.
