I ranked these without much thought, with my enjoyment trumping artistic/technical merit. Also, there were films such as Sin City and Russian Ark that were breathtaking in their achievements but were films I just didn't like.

1. City of God
2. Amelie
3. Cache
4. Primer
5. Pan's Labyrinth
6. L.A. Plays Itself
7. Rabbit Proof Fence
8. 24 Hour Party People
9. Dark Days
10. Sexy Beast

11. Tristram Shandy: A Cock And Bull Story
12. Hotel Rwanda
13. Borat
14. The Lives of Others
15. Northfork
16. Volver
17. Donnie Darko
18. Notes On A Scandal
19. Napoleon Dynamite
20. Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?

21. Shaun Of The Dead
22. Finding Neverland
23. Citizen Dog
24. Hustle & Flow
25. Memento
26. Chocolat
27. Slumdog Millionaire
28. Children of Men
29. Black Hawk Down
30. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

31. Bubba Ho-Tep
32. Control Room
33. Kung Fu Hustle
34. Elephant
35. The Kid Stays In The Picture
36. Hot Fuzz
37. The Corporation
38. The Fog of War
39. Ghostworld
40. The Devil's Backbone

41. U.S. Vs. John Lennon
42. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
43. I <3 Huckabees
44. Who Killed The Electric Car?
45. Once
46. The Aristocrats
47. No Country For Old Men
48. Mulholland Drive
49. Sunshine
50. Breakfast On Pluto

And I know I'm still forgetting a handful.

I saw that, but I honestly can't remember what I thought of it.

Good list. Borat at #13 and Amelie at #2 were a little unexpected.

I find with that movie it all depends on expectations. If you go in expecting a horror movie you'll be hugely disappointed, because it's really an old-fashioned ghost story.

I don't know why, but I am shocked that both Kung Fu Hustle and Napoleon Dynamite are on your list, Radcliffe, only because i find that to be most unexpected.

These have been on my list of films to see for some time now, the latter I've been particularly curious about.

Cache was good, probably not in my list, but It was good. One of the biggest jaw-dropping moments in a film in recent memory for me.

I like this list a lot. I completely forgot about Black Hawk Down. Definitely within my top ten.

I'm really happy to see Dark Days on so many lists. Not enough people seem to appreciate that movie.

surprised to see Amelie so high on Radcliffe's list. and the inclusion of Finding Neverland.

Don't get why people like I <3 Huckabees. That was worse than Wes Anderson's output for the decade.

I forgot Napolean Dynamite. Stupid, but its charm can't be denied.
