Rogue Chocolate Stout

Not bad. A good stout underneath a mild chocolate flavor. Probably wouldn't have enjoyed it so much if I hadn't cracked it open right after walking in from a 6 degree windchill. Probably won't buy again, but there's nothing wrong with it.

Got one of these a few days ago:

Far and away the best thing Sweetwater makes, IMO. But I don't really care for most of their regular brews, 420 in particular. First time I've ever actually bought one myself, and I hope it's as good as I remember.

Cool Drink - report back. I'm curious if those guys have anything good in them.

You gonna be near Bend? http://www.deschutesbrewery.com/brewery/default.aspx

Their Black Butte Porter is to die for, especially on tap.

I always liked 420, but then I tried the IPA fir the very first time in August and enjoy it far better. Definitely the best IPA made in Georgia anyway.

Haven't had it - cool. I enjoy 420 well enough when I have it. It's not as good and the GOOD ones, but it's, you know, hoppy and stuff.

I asked if this pub was any good on the Oregon MTB forum & have gotten one answer so far, a resounding "Oh hell yes." :)

Man, I used to HATE 420 when I was in college. I think it's OK now. Haven't had the IPA, but I may try it. There are very few IPAs I really like, though.

I'm not really sure about this, but I've always had the impression that, on average, Terrapin is the better GA brewery.

Toots, Hopworks is good beer. I took Sketchy there when he visited last year.

Oregon beers to try if you're able:

Hair of the Dog "Doggie Claws"
Deschutes "Jubelale"
Roots Organic Brewing "Festivus"
Full Sail "Wreck the Halls"

I'm sure I can think of others, but those are the "seasonal" ones that came to mind for me.

Oh and you don't have to go to Bend for Deschutes beer; they have a pub in NW Portland, as does Rogue.

Oh, my God, I forgot about this one. One of my favoritest beers. Good call.

Wonder if it's out- I haven't seen it this year. :(

Anther answer: "Yes. Old head brewer for Laurelwood who started his own gig-- the beer is liquid gold."

Sounds like you're gonna have a great time.

yeah, both Deschutes and Rogue have breweries here in town. Otherplaces I like include that Hopworks mentioned above and Amnesia Brewery.

420 used to be the same price as Budweiser ($1.75) at The Roadhouse. It was good enough, and it still is.

I like 420. It walks a line between a "good" beer and a beer I can drink 30 of in a night.

I brought this tonight to a Birthday Party for the singer from UUVVWWZ. As good as it was, it did not match the booze selection available.

God, I wish I was still in Atlanta to drink me some Sweetwater. Loved it. The brewery tour was amazing. I checked with all the liquor stores up here and no one can get it :(

I picked up some of this though today, and after driving around in the snow...busting through snow drifts in the ol' 4wd pickup, this hit the spot--

I suppose I've been taking it for granted the past 10 years, but I just never got the love some people have. I mean, if I was at a bar and 420 and Bud were the same price, I'd be drinking 420 in a heartbeat. But when I first moved here it seemed inescapable, and I got pretty sick of it.

Anyway, I need to do that brewery tour. I've heard nothing but good things.
