Do people here like that Stardeath album? I listened to some samples a while back and wasn't feeling it.

Really didn't like Dark Side of the Moon to begin with, this doesn't make me like it any more...

I've already argued with a multitude of friends who like The Flaming Lips about this album.
I didn't like it. The B-side tracks weren't terrible, but they basically ruined the first three tracks of the album with distortion and Henry Rollins voice.
I don't really have issues with a band doing a cover album, like The Walkmen did with Pussy Cats, but I don't see the point of releasing a complete remake of an album that ranks in the top selling albums of all time. I think most people would absolutely freak if someone remade Thriller, Pet Sounds, Highway 61 revisited or Revolver in this manner.
I guess I would prefer people to continue to do interpretations/mash-ups like The Grey Album or Christopher O'Riley piano work.

I'm sure you'd at least like the first Pink Floyd album.

I guess I may have to give this a listen. I hold no reverence whatsoever for DSotM so I really don't care if they butcher it.

People re-record best-selling songs all the time, why should an album be any different? But also, I think the fact that it is an itunes-exclusive (right?) should let you know where their heads were. I think they just had started messing around with some tracks and decided to go the full album.

Personally, I wasn't wowed first listen, which I was hoping to be. I thought how they implemented Hank's spoken word stuff was kinda meh, and I'm a big fan of his. I'll give it a few more listens and see if it sinks in.
