Kinda surprised to see Japandroids on your list. I didn't remember that you liked them. Dirty Projectors, too (albeit kinda low on there).
Bitte Orca was actually pretty high on my list at one point. It faded towards the end of the year, but I think it's a really interesting album. Much more grounded in r&b than one would expect. If I listened to it again in the last month I probably would have ranked it higher.
Japandroids has an earnest enthusiam for music that is infectious to me. It overcomes their lack of ability.
I was honestly tired of Kurt Cobain and was starting to feel that he was a sacred cow that needed deflating. Then I listend to this album and I remembered how incredibly awesome they were. I was even excited to listen to Smells like Teen Spirit again.
