Does anyone else like spicey food? What do you use to get it hot?

I just discovered this stuff and felt that I had to share.

I also like Frank's Red hot and this green stuff called Louisiana Gold. I tend to prefer a lot of flavor in my sauce. The Trader Joe's Jalapeno Sauce offers both.

I think we established in the last hot sauce thread that Louisiana Crystal brand hot sauce is the crowd favorite, at which point Tentoze mailed me 3 bottles, because they don't sell it up here. I'm almost done with the 3rd bottle, and I think of him fondly everytime I make eggs over well on sunday mornings.

That Asian stuff is pretty great on rice.

If the search function worked, I would have bumped it. :(

I've hoarded those 3 bottles of Crystal for, what, a year and a half now?

especially in some cream-based pasta dishes. turns it an odd color, but the smokiness is really good.

I got this from a co-worker during a office secret Santa thing in December. Stuff is surprisingly good, especially given that Hooters food isn't very good. I like the fact that it has brown sugar in it, gives it a touch of sweetness with the spice.

I love spicy food, but for some reason never got into the hot sauce thing... preferring to stick with powdered spices. However, a friend recently got me hooked on using Tabasco on pizza, so I've been using that on other things. I think when I run out of Tabasco, I'll go to the local grocery that always has a ton of hot sauces and start trying some more adventurous things...

Yep that one's good. Can't find it much around here either. It's all tabasco or Frank's, which I could swear is made by Sysco.

If you just want heat, there are other options. If you want flavor AND heat, then Crystal and Cholula are really good.

For daily use, I love Texas Pete and "Hotter" Texas Pete.

A buyer of mine also sent a few bottles of Woodstock Willie's Wake Up Sauce last month. It's tasty. Lightly habanero with just a touch of heat.

I simply won't use Tabasco unless it's the aforementioned Chiptole variety. It's good stuff.

Melinda's Scotch Bonnet sauce is also good. I usually find it in restaurants with a Caribbean inspired menu. Image

HERE's the last hot sauce thread.

And HERE's the one before that one

I never put hot sauce in the fridge. Do vinegar and peppers need to be refrigerated? I would think not.
