Curious to know your feelings about that Cale record, Paul!

Still this...last thing last night, first thing this morning...

Massive Attack: Heligoland

I'm really liking this one. I'm a big Massive Attack fan so don't know how objective I am, but I'd say if you like 'em at all this is more than worth a listen. Since their albums all seem to ave a distinctive mood, hard to really make comparisons, but it is pretty gloomy, but more beat heavy than something like 100th Window. Maybe most similar to Mezzanine but with a more tribal feel to the beats. This is gonna get a lot of plays.

Yeah, for the first time in a while with something I downloaded, I took the FLAcs and burned an actual CD to crank up and listen to instead of just throwing it on my iPod in MP3 form.

Well, I still did that...but I did give it a full listen through at full quality and cranked up to window rattling volume. Quite nice.

No, I haven't really heard any of it yet (except for a few excerpts on NPR). It seems fairly redundant to me, for the most part. I'm not a bit fan of alternate takes and demos unless they are wildly different from the versions that I already know and love. So, this just hasn't seemed like a worthwhile investment to me. I suppose that I could be convinced otherwise, if I hear frothing reviews from people that I trust, or if I hear music from there that changes my mind. But for now, I'm content with my current Big Star collection.

If there is stuff worthwhile, I can cull it and then up it.
